Jeremy Barnes

Design and Planning

Design Phase

Jeremy Barnes spends time with each of his clients to ensure that the final design exactly fits the clients ideas and needs. During an informal meeting, Jeremy will draw a number of rough sketches in the presence of the client, to bring together their ideas with Jeremy's knowledge of materials and 20 years of experience. The rough sketches are then drawn to scale. Examples of these drawings are shown below. Once the design and price has been agreed with the client, work on their unique kitchen or item of furniture commences.

Timescales

During the initial informal meeting, Jeremy will also discuss the timescales involved to create the kitchen or piece of furniture perfect for the client. Particularly when creating a bespoke kitchen, Jeremy prides himself in working with the client to agree a plan to install the kitchen (or piece) with as little disruption to the clients lifestyle as possible. Unlike many kitchen installers who may leave the kitchen area unusable for many weeks, the first item Jeremy will install is the sink unit so the clients may still use the area.

The owner of a barber shop approached Jeremy to design and create a functional and yet stylish working area. This is the design he produced.
